Ellen could not believe it was already senior year. School had been in session for a good week, and she already had a lot of homework she needed to get done. A lot of her fellow classmates had already developed "senioritis." Ellen was determined not to let that happen to her. She had to keep her grades up if she wanted the colleges she wanted to get into to take her seriously. Her grades from her past three years were unblemished A's. If she even dropped a little bit, she'd be finished. She figured it wouldn't be too terribly hard for her to keep up in her classes. She just couldn't let herself have too much fun. Then again, Ellen was never one for parties. She primarily kept to herself, and while everyone else around her was enjoying their senior year, she was still as intense as ever.
She walked through the halls of her school, a bunch of books in her arms. She needed to get to the library. There really wasn't anywhere else to study. She nearly tripped over her own feet as she walked. Ellen was never the most graceful person in the world. She was awkward, both socially and physically.
When she stepped foot in the library, she grumbled at the amount of people currently occupying it. How was she ever going to concentrate? She hated being surrounded by people. She scanned the room, and nearly jumped for joy when she noticed one table was open. She quickly walked over to claim it. She sat down and opened up her European History textbook. She began to read the assigned chapter. Midway through, she felt someone sit next to her. She turned her head slightly to see who it was.

Gabrielle wanted to get a head start on her homework for her History class and she was very studious. School had been in session for about a week now and she already felt like she was behind on the game. She grabbed her history book from her locker and she made her way down the hallway. This time last year, she was just meeting her boyfriend and walking down the halls with a new friend. Gabrielle had so many memories and emotions flowing through her as she walked. But she then spotted Lawson Andrews, the new guy of her affection. He was the most gorgeous man in her grade and she wanted to get to know him this year.
Gabrielle entered the library. She looked around the library, looking for a table to sit at. She found one with another girl sitting at it. She shrugged. Better than sitting on the floor in between the book shelves Gabi thought to herself. She walked over to the table and she set her book down next to the girl. Gabrielle saw the girl turn to look at her and Gabi smiled slightly. "Hi, I'm Gabrielle, but my friends call me Gabi. I think you and I are in the book club together and I'm on the cross country team as well," Gabrielle said, smiling to the woman in front of her. *Not my best but yay! *

Ellen could swear she had seen this girl before. Then again, this was a private school, so it was not particularly big. When the girl spoke, she apparently knew who she was. A light went off when she said they were both in Book Club and Cross Country. She had never actually spoken to this girl before, but she knew of her. Ellen never really paid attention to her classmates, so it was not surprise she knew little of her. Ellen sat back in her seat a little bit. She was really not prepared to have a conversation with this girl. She needed to study. That's what she came her for after all. If she wanted to socialize, she would have gone elsewhere. But the girl knew it would be rude to ignore the person sitting next to her now. She faked a smile.
"I'm Ellen," she said, whispering so the librarian wouldn't come over and yell at them. Ellen was in good graces with her, she didn't want to get on her bad list. Not when she frequented the library nearly every single day. "Yeah, we probably are," she said. "I'm sorry if I don't remember you, I'm not really good at remembering people," she said softly. Ellen had no time for friends. Her mother said that to her a lot. Watsons were not bred for popularity. They were bred for success. Now that Ena had disappointed the family name, Ellen really had no room to mess up.
