OVERVIEW: Shy, friendly, gentle, organized, and kind hearted. She has a good heart and genuinely cares about people. She's extremely shy and reserved, and doesn't particularly like to be the center of attention even if it is for a good reason. Most of the time, she hides behind her music. She can be very motherly, and is extremely responsible. She usually ends up being the designated driver, and she really doesn't mind at all.
Juliet suffers from anxiety and borderline obsessive compulsive disorders, and has to take medication for her conditions. She's very rigid and self-critical. A lot of this stems from her childhood. Her parents were constantly pressuring her. She had an emotional breakdown her first year at Columbia, but over time she's managed to cope. She's socially awkward, but likes being around people.
She is very idealistic and tries her hardest to find the best in people. Her heart is golden, and to some degree she has a bit of innocence to her. Like a lovesick teenager, Juliet believes in honest and true love even though many say it doesn't exist. There is nothing she wants more than to prove the cynics wrong and show them that there is meaning to the world and everything isn't cloudy and dark.

HISTORY: Juliet was a surprise child for Mark and his wife Diana. The couple had only one other child, Miranda, who was four when Juliet was born. They had Miranda when they were very young. Both of them were in graduate school. Diana found out she was having twins. When the twins were born, Diana knew she couldn't handle having two babies, so she begrudgingly put one up for adoption. Her attempts were nearly in vain when Juliet was born, but the moment the beautiful brunette was brought into the world, her parents loved her immediately, even if she didn't fit into their plans. Miranda adored his younger sister, and she was very proud to be an older sister; she swore to protect her sister at all costs. Three years after she was born, Richard, her younger brother, was born. The Baker family was complete after that.
The Baker family came from 'old money,' and happened to be very wealthy. Jonathan and Diana were neuroscientists, and they expected nothing but excellence from their children. They pretended to be very involved with their children's lives, when in reality, they were always at work or attending a social engagement. Julia and her siblings were raised by their grandmother, Annabelle for the most part.
At first, Juliet didn't really mind having both her parents working. But that didn't last long. She started acting out, and her grandmother was the one who calmed her down. She told her that mommy and daddy loved her very much but were busy. Juliet had a hard time accepting it, but she eventually did. When she learned to write, she started keeping a journal because it helped her vent without being destructive.
When it was time for her to go to middle school, her parents paid to send her to a prestigious boarding school. They had high expectations for her, and she was terrified that she'd let them down. Academically, she was the brightest in her class, but she had no social skills. The kids teased her for being a 'nerd.' Her parents paid no attention to the bullying, but praised her for doing well in school. She discovered that she had a talent for acting in seventh grade. She played, ironically, Juliet in the school's production of Romeo and Juliet and excelled. She also developed a love for music, and started taking flute and violin lessons. After mastering the violin, she moved onto the cello, and discovered she liked it better.
In high school, she began developing anxiety disorder. The pressure was too much for her. She attended psychotherapy and was prescribed Zoloft to help. It helped to relieve some of the disorder, but it didn't completely get rid of it. She studied day and night to get good grades. The only solace she could find was in music. Deep down, she knew she wanted to pursue music as a career, but she knew her parents would never allow it.
When her senior year came around, her parents expected her to get into Harvard. She applied, but didn't get in. They were furious, and claimed she wasn't working hard enough. Juliet broke down, and ended up going to live with her grandmother for the remainder of her senior year. During an evening alone with her grandmother, she learned that her parents put up her older sister's twin for adoption because the girl didn't fit into their plans. This made Juliet hate her parents even more. She was determined to find her sister.
Although she didn't make it to Harvard, she did get into another excellent school, Columbia. Upon arriving at the campus, she went through a huge culture shock. She had never shared a room before, so having a roommate was an entirely new experience for her. She started off pursuing a Biology Major with the intention of going to Medical School, but she was miserable. She didn't understand a lot of her classes, and eventually had another breakdown. Her academic advisor encouraged her to chose a different major. She decided to follow her heart, and auditioned for a spot in Columbia's music program. She got in, and is currently pursuing a major in Music. She is also desperately searching for her sister.
