Evangeline smiled when Romeo approved of the bacon. "You men seem to adore your bacon," she said with a light laugh. Her husband loved bacon too, as did her brothers, and her son. On the weekends, the woman was always expected to cook a full English breakfast for her family, and bacon had to be included. It was unheard of for her not to. Her two men would probably grumble when they found her gone this morning. She forgot to leave them breakfast. They'd just have to survive one morning with out her. God forbid that. Some day, she'd confront them about relying on her too much.
She grinned as he answered her questions. Her bright blue eyes observed him while he spoke. He was so much more grown up now. The last time she saw him, he was but a little child. Now he was a college boy! "I'll say your dorm is nice!" she said, looking around the room. "When I went to Princeton a hundred years ago, the dorms were tiny!" she said. Truly, colleges were nicer to their students these days. "By the way, if you would like to visit the Upper East Side sometime, you are always welcome in my house. I'm sure Allison, Charlotte, and Nathaniel would all be excited to see you."
She frowned when he said there were no girls, and frowned even further when he implied he wouldn't go after her. "I can't believe the ladies aren't lining up at your doorstep! You're so handsome!" He really was! She smiled as he rambled on. "This Juliet seems to be really special. If you need advice on how to woo her, just let me know." Evangeline was not the most experienced person when it came to dating. She had dated her husband, and he was pretty much it. Yes, she had a few silly flings in between, but they were never serious. She was experienced, however, in the art of love and romance. She had eighteen years of marriage to thank for that. "Sweetie, don't apologize! Ramble all you want."
Evangeline smiled when he said there was nowhere for her to sit. Ah, the joys of college life. She was so glad to be past that. "I'll just sit at your desk," she said, moving over to do just that. Once she was situated, she unwrapped her own bagel, and took a bite from it. "So I hear you're going to be Romeo. Well, you are Romeo, but you know what I mean," she said, shaking her head. "That's really excellent! Your mom and dad will be very proud when they find out," she said.

Evangeline smiled when the kind lady handed the order to her. It was a bright and sunny fall morning. Her husband was still lying in bed asleep seeing as it was Saturday. Usually, Evan stayed asleep beside him as long as she could. With three children, it was difficult to get time alone together. Sometimes those early mornings were the only times they could just lay there and be together without children. At least each one of her kids were past the age of sleeping in bed with them. Her youngest, Nathaniel, was ten years old. Evan hoped the thought of sleeping with mommy and daddy was absolutely horrifying to the boy. Charlotte was fourteen. She used to sleep with them all the time as a little girl, but now she was well past that age. Actually, Evangeline feared her daughter was beginning to pull away from her. She just had to remind herself that it was a stage all teenage girls went through. Allison was seventeen and nearly an adult. Knowing that made her feel so incredibly old. Had it really been nearly eighteen years since her wedding day? Time really did pass quickly.
She grabbed the order. One sesame bagel with cream cheese and a giant cup of coffee for her, and an everything bagel with bacon, egg, and cheese with a cold bottle of orange juice for her nephew. Evangeline had arranged this little visit with her nephew weeks ago. She was so busy dealing with the start of the school term, she hardly had any time for herself let alone to visit her nephew at a college campus quite a distance from her. Parents were already lined up outside of her office nearly every day. Some were friendly faces, but the majority wanted her head. Most of them were on a witch hunt, and she was the witch. That's what you get for being honorable, she thought to herself. But Evangeline wasn't going to cave into these incredibly wealth, insanely Botoxed, medicine ridden, crazy ladies. She was better than the. She had degrees from two Ivy League institutions and had faced far scarier as a lawyer. They didn't scare her. But they did give her a headache.
She thanked the girl at the cashier and put three dollars into the tip jar. She hummed as she left the bagel shop. She walked along the city streets until she reached the gates of Columbia University. Everyone in the family was so proud of Romeo for getting into such a prestigious school. He had the Kennedy determination in him. She stopped by the map and searched for where the student housing was located. She walked in the right direction, taking a long sip of her coffee. Oh how she needed it. Mornings were never her friend. She was much more a night owl. When she got to the dorm, she searched for someone to let her in. Careful not to spill her coffee or drop the food, Evangeline walked up the stairs to his room. She knocked, waiting for her nephew to open the door.
When the door finally opened, she held up the bagel and orange juice proudly. "I brought breakfast!" She said, grinning brightly. "You like bacon, right? I know your dad likes bacon, and I remember you liking it when you were little, so I figured you still did," she said. "Sooooo...how's the dorm? Any girls? Oh please tell me there's a girl! Someone as handsome as you shouldn't be single." | |

CHARLOTTE WARD FOURTEEN FRESHIE
HYPER
| This is Evangeline's youngest daughter and middle child, Charlotte. She's fourteen years old and currently a freshman at Hawthorne Academy. Charlotte and her mother are fairly close. Granted, they were A LOT closer before Charlotte started going to high school. Now she's going through that "OH MOOOOM" stage all teenagers go through.
Personality wise, she is very rambunctious and hyper. She never shuts up and can be quite loud. She likes to pretend she knows a lot about the world, but she's actually quite innocent and naïve. Her play by is Maisie Williams!

My children are both my greatest strength and greatest weakness. I'm scared of bugs. OVERVIEW: To say Evangeline is a tough woman would be an absolute understatement. Throughout her forty seven years of existence, she's developed a tough skin. It takes a lot to offend her and a lot to bother her. Being a woman in a male dominated field, Evangeline always found herself discriminated against. She used to let sexism bother her, but now she wears her gender like armor. Now, she laughs at misogynists. She has taught her children to be strong and independent like her, especially her girls. As a mother, she is very strict. She expects her children to work hard and reach their standard of excellence. Evan realizes she can be exceedingly harsh on them, but it is truly all out of love.
She is very bright. Her mind is constantly working and analyzing things. When she's relaxing, she can almost always be seen with some sort of book. She reads all the time, and she reads a wide array of genres. If she feels like she's not exercising her mind enough, she can become self destructive. A few times in her life, she's gone without sleep. And sometimes she won't eat.
As a dean and former teacher, she is a strict disciplinarian. Rules are there for a reason, and anyone who breaks those rules get punished. She doesn't pick favorites nor does she cater to the wealthier, more prominent families. Former deans of the high school have notoriously looked away when the children of the elite misbehaved, but that simply isn't the case with Evan. She is fair and dishes out punishment equally. Such refusal to play politics has become rather controversial amongst parents. Naturally, the scholarship kids and those less prominent like her way of ruling, but the wealthy elitists tend to call her unfriendly names behind her back.
Outside of school, Evan can surprisingly have a good time. When she is with her family and friends, she has a very sarcastic and dry sense of humor. People who are used to seeing her in a professional atmosphere are often surprised when she makes a joke. She quite enjoys socializing and meeting new people. Although she is not a fan of parties, Evangeline will attend them if necessary. Her personal preference is to meet people intimately, one on one. A word to the wise: do not underestimate her in a drinking match. She can hold her liquor.
( THEHISTORY ) PARENTS: George Kennedy, physicist, 74
Margot Kennedy, economist, 70 SIBLINGS: Elizabeth Donovan, 42 Michael Kennedy, 40 Robert Kennedy, 38 OTHER FAMILY: Aaron Ward, 48, husband Allison Ward, 17, daughter Charlotte Ward, 14, daughter Nathaniel Ward, 10, son Romeo Donovan, 22, nephew PETS: Aristotle, Golden Retriever, 6 Alia, Golden Retriever, 2 months SOCIOECONOMIC STATUS: Upper HISTORY: On December 13, Margot Kennedy gave birth to her first child, a girl that she named Evangeline. One year prior to Evangeline's birth, Margot was pregnant with a child but miscarried. She named her firstborn girl Evangeline because it means "bringer of good news" or "messenger of God." Evangeline was the best news for Margot and her husband, George. Evan and her family lived in a beautiful house overlooking a beach in Maine. When summer came around, Evan would always go swimming, and she'd help her mother plant flowers in the garden. Evan's baby sister, Elizabeth, was born five years after her. Evan was very protective of her baby sister. Her mom joked that Elizabeth had a second mother. Two years after Elizabeth, the youngest Kennedy, Robert was born.
Soon Evangeline was off to school. She was very nervous, but she soon got used to the new environment. She grew up fast. Most of her days were spent daydreaming about going to a big city and becoming someone important. She studied a lot, even in elementary school, and during good weather, one could always find her under the giant Cherry tree in her yard, reading a book, or playing with her siblings on the beach. Her childhood was very quaint, very simple.
In high school, she was at the top of her class. She participated in a lot of extracurricular activities. She played the clarinet in band, and volunteered her time doing a lot of community service projects. She wanted to go to a top school after high school, and make something of herself. Both her parents were successful in their jobs. Her mother was a well known economist and her father an up and coming physicist. Evan simply wanted to make them proud of her. During her senior year, she applied to many colleges. Her dream being Yale or Princeton. When her admissions decisions arrived in the mail, she was shocked to find out she got into all of the schools she applied to. She picked Princeton. Once the summer was up, she packed her belongings and was off to New Jersey.
The course load at Princeton was much harder than she was used to. She was expecting that, but it still shocked her for some reason. She studied hard and refused to let up. She wanted to succeed, and failure was not an option. She lived at the library during her free time, and never went to any parties. During her sophomore year, her roommate convinced her to go to a mixer. She was nervous, but knew it was time for her to socially engage with her classmates. Little did she know, her friend was planning on setting her up with a guy. It was there that she met the handsome and charming, Aaron Ward. She was drawn to him in a way she couldn't describe. Evan had previously had crushes on boys during her giggly high school years, but she never truly felt anything stronger than infatuation. They talked for a while, and he asked her out on a date. Thus began their relationship.
They loved each other passionately, fought like they were insane, but always made up. He was her soul mate, and she was his. When graduation loomed around the corner, they knew they had to start thinking about the future. Evangeline was going to attend Yale Law School and get her JD while Aaron was planning on staying in Princeton for graduate studies. They agreed to try long distance. Unfortunately, it didn't work, and they ended up breaking off their relationship. Evangeline was heartbroken, but she refused to let it get in the way of her studies. She graduated close to the top of her law class.
Now that she was completely finished with college, she set out to become a successful lawyer. She was offered a position at a big New York City firm. She was an excellent lawyer, but she always felt like she got the short end of the stick because she was a woman. That just motivated her more. She became a definite workaholic. Evan hardly let herself have any free time to herself. The few friends she had could see she was slowly self destructing. Her boss could see she was overworking herself, and forced her to take a vacation.
Over her break, she ran into a familiar face at the Museum of Natural History. Aaron had an exhibition up. They went out for coffee, and all of her old feelings came flooding back to her. She was still in love with him. Right before their coffee date ended, she told him she still felt something. Sadly, John told her he felt the same way for years, but he had moved on and was now married. Humiliated, she left with the intention of never seeing him ever again. But later that evening, in the pouring rain, Aaron showed up at her doorstep. He told her that she was the only woman he ever loved. He said he wasn't in love with his wife anymore, and that she was just a replacement for the real woman of his dreams. They spent the night together, and later that month, Aaron filed for divorce.
When the divorce was finalized, they spent the next two years dating. Somewhere during that time span, Aaron's ex-wife showed up at Evan's workplace. She told Evangeline off and called her a few unpleasant names. Her boss was unimpressed with the little showdown, so he fired Evan. Evangeline was furious. Now she had no job, and a woman out to get her. Aaron told her not to worry because he loved her, and he knew she'd find somewhere else to work. That night, he proposed. Evan accepted.
She got a job teaching philosophy at Columbia University. It paid well, and she actually grew to like it better than her previous job. Once she established herself at Columbia, Aaron and her were married. Not long after their wedding, she became pregnant with their first child, a girl that they named Allison. Three years later she had another child, Charlotte, and then four years after Charlotte, she had Nathaniel. Becoming a mother was the best thing for her. She mellowed out. She left her job at Columbia after Nathaniel was born and got a job teaching history at Hawthorne Academy. When the dean retired two years ago, they offered her the position. She accepted, eager to tackle an administrative position.
