As usual Romeo was the first one to rehearsal. In high school he wondered if it was weird to be so early, but as he grew he realized it was professional and it gave him time to walk on the empty stage. He always felt at home and comfortable on the stage or in front of the camera, but he didn't tell many people that anymore. Some used to warn him that he sounded haughty when he said that and people could get jealous. He didn't agree, but he wasn't one to flat out deny warnings and not be respectful of others' opinions. He was laying on the stage now, still in disbelief that he'd gotten the lead. At first he'd wondered if it was because of his name, but he knew deep down that Lutz only casted for talent and thought of his name as a cool bonus. Everyone in the theatre groaned when they first found out that they'd be doing "Romeo and Juliet", but Lutz assured them that he was going to make it original. Romeo trusted him and told the others to, as well. It was hard, but they were all going to try.
He heard the doors open along with Lutz's voice. "Ah, there he is. Why am I not surprised?" His tone was good-natured. Romeo smiled and sat up, waving at Lutz but soon getting distracted by a beauty behind him. He hadn't seen her in the theatre before and he wondered who she was and why she was here. Not that he objected, of course; he was never one to object showing off to a pretty girl. Rather, he wanted to know if she was going to be a theatre major. Soon the other theatre majors flooded in and Lutz instructed them all to sit down. "Professor Geer will be here soon to talk to the tech majors about the ideas so far so just stay put. As for the performance majors, stay seated while I introduce someone special." He motioned to Juliet. "This is Juliet Baker, and she will be playing Juliet- the character, not herself. No, I didn't cast her because of her name. You all know me better than that, especially the seniors. Juliet is not a theatre major but she auditioned, which we all know I admire people who do that because it shows and adds diversity into the theatre." Romeo could see that some of the girls that wanted the role were upset and he was ready to give them a talking-to if they said anything. He hoped Juliet wouldn't let them phase her. "Well now that I've embarrassed her enough, I won't have her say anything unless she feels the need to." Everyone clapped and Romeo made sure to get the seat next to her. He waited until Professor Lutz was busy before he spoke softly to Juliet. "Nice to meet you, Juliet. I'm Romeo. Um, that sounds kind of weird because it sounds like I'm introducing myself as the character I'm playing, but my name really is Romeo. No lie." He suddenly felt more shy than usual as he held out his hand. "That's really cool Lutz cast you and you're not a theatre major. What made you want to audition?"
